Steal a sandwich in Sydney. Follow the river through Kyoto. Hitch a ride beneath Palawan's islands. Take a car around Monte Carlo. Nobody has checked its driving licence.

Capybara Abroad is a cosy, mischievous journey through nineteen places. There is a traveller's bag to follow, a world of small discoveries, and a homecoming waiting in Sydney's Botanic Gardens. The capybara is taking the scenic route.

A holiday with room for trouble

• Nineteen places to make itself at home. Harbour ferries, Kyoto gates, tropical water, Venetian canals and Antarctic ice.
• Some unusual transport. Captain the Circular Quay ferry, ride a manta in Palawan, float over Cappadocia or drive through Monte Carlo. An ambitious itinerary for an animal without pockets.
• Small discoveries worth keeping. Swim, dive, investigate local interactions, collect keepsakes and bring memories home.
• A miniature world with its own soundtrack. Low-poly landscapes and synthesised music, with quiet corners between the mischief.

Follow the story or wander off

Story follows five folds of a map towards a homecoming. Free Roam opens all nineteen places, with optional timed HAVOC challenges, medals and three hearts. The itinerary is flexible. The gardener is less so.

The free browser demo includes Sydney, Circular Quay, Kyoto and Palawan, with unlimited replay. Its Story begins with a Sydney memory and continues to the ferry. Choose Explore the demo to visit all four straight away.

The full download adds the remaining fifteen places, the complete Story journey and full Free Roam. Export from Pause → Settings → Download journey, then choose Load journey file in the full game. Its memories can travel too.

Play the download

Unzip the download and open Capybara Abroad.html in a desktop browser. It plays offline and saves locally, with journey-file export and import. Tested in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome on Windows. Keyboard and mouse recommended; start with Auto quality. This is an HTML game supplied as a download.
